Heroin in New Hampshire
New Hampshire prisons are facing overcrowding as more people in the state are incarcerated for drug abuse, especially with a heroin epidemic raging there. About 2/3 of inmates are incarcerated for drug abuse, possession or sales. The striking figure is the growth in female inmates in state prison over the last six months. It’s 13 percent higher compared to 2013. This increase is being attributed to rising rates in drug abuse in that state.
